ABOUT JOE AND HIS PRACTICE

Joe’s clients come to him as a trusted advisor who can help them plan for how their assets pass to their families as well as advocate for them in Court to ensure their wishes are met.

Joe is the founding member of Porzio’s Wealth Preservation Group. He has been practicing law for over 25 years and has more than 30 years of experience working as a professional in the business, financial and tax fields. Joe’s colleagues comment that he has a rare combination of tax and business acumen and trial experience that makes him unique among Tax, Trusts & Estates attorneys and estate and business litigators.

Joe works with families to successfully transfer their wealth from one generation to the next with as little income, estate and gift tax consequences and administrative hassles as possible. He guides families, Administrators and Executors through the probate process and assists with the preparation of federal and state inheritance and estate tax returns and fiduciary income tax returns.

An accomplished litigator, Joe leverages his trial experience and litigation skills to successfully represent clients in federal and state courts. Joe has successfully represented executors, administrators, trustees, beneficiaries, guardians, incapacitated persons, surviving spouses, and families in estate, trust, guardianship and fiduciary litigation matters. Estate and trust litigation matters can also involve disputes over family-owned businesses or interests in real property. Given this, Joe has also represented businesses, business owners, corporations, Corporate Directors, and Limited Liability Company members in corporate divorce, oppressed minority shareholder, oppressed minority limited liability company members, breach of contract, and commercial disputes in both federal and state courts.

Because of Joe’s reputation as an attorney who can successfully navigate complicated trust and estate disputes, he is frequently appointed as the Court Appointed Attorney, Guardian and Guardian ad litem, Administrator and Trustee by County Surrogates and Chancery Division Judges in New Jersey.
